Elizabeth Caruthers Park
This visually graphic landscape is defined by strong topography and a rich palette of contrasting colors, texture and scale. Sinuous boardwalks traverse hills and wetland hollows, a landscape lushly planted with native trees and shrubs that capture and infiltrate runoff from a playful interactive water feature.
The centerpiece of the park is a large open lawn and landform that plays host to dog walkers and informal events alike. The landform offers a vantage point of the nearby Willamette River and surrounding community by day and is illuminated at night by light wands. Space for play, contemplation and community gathering are tucked amid striking swaths of ornamental planting visible from the surrounding high rises.
